Department of Informatics at PEF hosted BIP Program “Building Augmented Reality Experiences”

5. 6. 2025

Fifteen students from six European countries came to the Faculty of Business and Economics at MENDELU for a hands-on learning experience in creating augmented reality apps. The international course, part of the BIP program, mixed online learning (May 22–23) with in-person classes in Brno (May 26–30). It gave students a unique chance to turn theory into real-world skills.

Over five days, participants from Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, the Netherlands, and Cyprus learned how to design user interfaces, code prototypes, and build augmented reality apps—all under the guidance of instructors from the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, MENDELU. The program also included team activities and a shared social program in Brno.

What was the “Building Augmented Reality Experiences” course like?

The program kicked off with an online session (May 22–23, 2025), during which participants learned the basics of UX design, human behavior in digital environments, and how to create design documentation.

From May 26 to 30, they gathered in Brno for the in-person part of the course, where they designed, tested, and refined their own digital solutions. They worked with web technologies, explored the principles of the so-called Spatial Design System, and learned how to turn theory into a working application.

The final day was all about testing the prototypes, analyzing the results, and presenting their finished projects. Participants walked away with valuable hands-on experience, going through the entire digital product development process—from the first idea to final testing.
