Participation conditions

  1. Student has to be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral study programme.
  2. Length of stay: 2-12 months.
  3. The minimum number of required credits is 18 ECTS and these courses must correspond with the student’s study programme at FBE. 
  4. Students must not choose courses they have already passed at FBE. Language courses in Learning Agreement must be on a higher level than is already achieved.

  1. Repeated student mobility: each student may participate in a study stay and traineeship repeatedly in each study cycle for up to 12 months.
  2. Students have to find out information about the visa requirements of the country they want to study in.
  3. Study stays in the country of residence are not possible. Study stays in the country of the student’s origin have the lowest priority. Thus, such stays will not be approved by MENDELU.

Application

  • Filling out the electronic application through the UIS application (Student portal → My studies – My studies abroad – Submitting an application for an exchange stay)
  • Learning Agreement Proposal – proposal of courses studied during the study stay for each university, which show the motivation of the student and relevance to the field of studies (upload in one document to UIS or send to Erasmus coordinator at FBE  
    • Only courses with corresponding syllabi might be recognized for FBE courses from your study plan. For other courses, students will obtain only ECTS credits. Such courses will be recognized as Recognized International Mobility Course (EXA-UPxx).
  • Language knowledge – the student can receive extra points for a language certificate (level B2 or higher)

Students are required to pass a written language exam and interview. Students will receive an e-mail with details from MENDELU IRO. If a student has passed a language exam, the results can be recognized upon the request of the student (the exam cannot be older than 1 year).

The applications are evaluated at the faculty and then at the University level.  The results will be announced in UIS. The nominations to Foreign Universities are sent by MENDELU IRO. 

Note: if your mobility is in the last semester of your studies, all documents, including the Transcript of Record, must be delivered by the end of the examination period for students completing the state final exam (which in most cases is difficult). Check the deadlines of a foreign university, or contact them directly and make an individual arrangement.

Specialization “Foreign mobility”

  • for IT fields: to fulfil the specialization, it is necessary to complete 4 professional courses studied at a Foreign university that are related to the field of study (you need to consult them with the officer in the foreign department in advance and have them approved by the vice-dean for education). There is no limit on the minimum number of credits, but if the number is less than 20 ECTS, it is necessary to supplement the credits through optional courses within the overall study plan at MENDELU.
  • for economic fields: to fulfil the specialization, it is necessary to complete any 3 courses studied at a Foreign university (language and other cultural courses are also counted), with any number of credits.
  • Compulsory informational meeting (organized by MENDELU IRO).
  • Microsoft Teams – a platform for sharing all information
  • Documents and administration required by Foreign University – responsibility of the student.
  • Online Learning agreement – fill in the courses you want to study at Foreign university in Online Learning Agreement. If the Foreign university does not use OLA, it is possible to use our MENDELU form.
  • Letter of acceptance – provided by the partner university, with dates of study stay. Submit to FBE IRO (based on Letter of Acceptance, the mobility is added to UIS).
  • Bank account – add EUR bank account number to UIS.
  • Travel proposal – apply in UIS (eAgenda – Trips Abroad). Fill in the dates of the mobility including the trip. On the grounds of travel proposal you will have arranged travel insurance for your stay (each student has to have university insurance). Pay the compulsory travel insurance online in UIS – you can find the instructions here
  • OLS – online language test available at https://academy.europa.eu/ , upload the result to the checklist (printscreen) – check the instructions
  • Checklist in UIS – available after submitting Letter of Acceptance. Students have to upload all required documents (Learning Agreement, Letter of Acceptance, Confirmation of insurance payment, Certificate of OLS test).
  • Grant agreement – upon completion of all previous steps, contact MENDELU IRO (kamila.hercova@mendelu.cz) to arrange the signature of Grant agreement.
  • Confirmation of enrolment at FBE – students should enrol to following semester at FBE without courses (contact study referent for assistance). If you arrange the possibility to study some course at MENDELU with the supervisor, you can enrol to this course in UIS. 
  • Recognition of courses is agreed in advance in the Learning agreement (Instructions). Only courses with corresponding syllabi might be recognized for relevant courses from your compulsory study plan at FBE (consult them in advance with your faculty international relations office referent). For other courses, students will obtain only ECTS credits. Such courses will be recognized as EXA-UP: Recognized International Mobility Course. It is necessary to fulfill the condition of obtaining 18 ECTS for professional courses (language courses, etc. are not included).

Please make sure you fully understand the course recognition. If you have any doubts, contact your study referent or faculty International Relations office.

Changes to Learning Agreement – in exceptional cases (cancelled courses, timetable conflicts), you can make Changes in your OLA by the 30-day deadline after the start of the semester at a Foreign University. Signed OLA upload to Checklist.

Extension of study stay – possible only in the winter semester, apply to faculty IRO by 30th October.

Confirmation of Study period – submit the original document to MENDELU IRO & upload it to the checklist within 7 days after the end of the study stay – it is possible to recognize the electronic version of Confirmation as well in case it is sent by Foreign University directly to the email of MENDELU IRO.

Transcript of records (TOR) – submit the original document to the faculty IRO or ask the coordinator from the receiving university to send your TOR by e-mail to the faculty IRO. The student is obliged to submit TOR within 7 days after receiving TOR.

Recognition of courses – upon submitting the TOR and Confirmation of Study, all the documents are checked for correctness. If there is a discrepancy of TOR with LA/Changes to LA, write and deliver confirmation with an explanation of the reasons to the faculty IRO. This Confirmation scan and added to the Checklist together with TOR.

EU Survey – you will receive the link to fill out by e-mail.

Final report – submit in UIS within 30 days.

OLS test – not obligatory

All documents have to be uploaded to the Checklist in UIS.

If the student is forced to cancel his/her nomination for serious reasons, he/she is obliged to do so immediately via the form 102_0 Notification of withdrawal of foreign mobility in a Contact centre in UIS, which is then automatically sent to DIRI and the faculty, and to send an apologetic e-mail to the foreign coordinator abroad explaining the reason for cancelling his/her stay
