Faculty statement on Russian invasion

28. 2. 2022
With immediate effect, the Faculty suspends all international cooperation agreements and student and staff exchange agreements with Russian entities.
In a situation of the aggressive violation of peace in Europe and disrespect to international agreements, international obligations, human lives, and the right of self-determination of free and democratic states by Russian Federation it is necessary to clearly and resolutely manifest that this behaviour does not belong to the civilised world and to the 21st century. We are sorry to inform that the faculty management decided to implement steps to partially isolate Russian Federation on the institutional level. Together with the appeal on empathy, solidarity, and peaceful behaviour of all our students and employees towards every humans regardless their origin, in connection with the development of the situation in Ukraine we do not have any other option, than to immediately suspend all treaties and agreements on international cooperation and memoranda of understanding on students’ and staff’s exchange with partners in Russian Federation. This decision does not and will not affect Russian exchange students, current students from Russian Federation enrolled in study programmes carried out at the faculty nor applicants for studies in study programmes carried out at the faculty. The faculty is already helping to a maximum extent to its Ukrainian students, and it is ready to help – where necessary and suitable – Russian students as well. However, the faculty will no longer send its students nor staff nor will it accept students or staff from partner universities in Russian Federation for study or education purposes. Suspension of agreements and corresponding partial isolation of Russian Federation will be in effect until the Russian army leaves the Ukrainian territory, and until the Russian government stops to violate the order, democracy, and the rights of the Ukrainian citizens to decide on their future course, via the military and disinformation campaigns.
