Are you ready to develop an innovative bio-based solution to help overcome hurdles standing in the way of a climate-neutral Europe? BISC-E invites students to design solutions in a multidisciplinary team and compete at national and international levels.
The Bio-based Innovation Student Challenge Europe (BISC-E) is a Europe-wide student competition to stimulate entrepreneurship and award excellence. The programme offers student teams opportunities to practice entrepreneurship by addressing relevant technological, environmental, or societal challenges with innovative bio-based solutions.
BISC-E seeks to raise awareness and involve students in the transition towards a bio-based economy. A key objective of the BISC-E programme is to stimulate and support entrepreneurship in curricula at universities. In the near future we plan to extend this programme to include vocational education level students.
Who can take part?
First-year PhD students can be part of a student team provided their current level is comparable to others within the European Qualification Framework Level 7, and the overarching Framework qualifications of the European Higher Education Area.
It is highly advisable that the teams include students from different disciplines, from STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and non-technical disciplines. Team members can be enrolled at different universities within Czechia.

Who is the winner?
Participating in BISC-E Makes you a winner thanks to the valuable experience you gain through collectively creating solutions for a sustainable future, in a multidisciplinary team. And above, the climate and the environment will be the ultimate winners!
If your team wins the national BISC-E, you and team members will represent Czechia in the European final.
All national winners represent their country in the European final, organized by Bio-based Industries Consortium. The Bio-based Industries Consortium has made some great prizes available for the winners of the European final.
Are you up to the challenge? Register now with the National Coordinator for Czechia, Mr Pawan Kumar Mishra from Mendel University!
