The graduate will acquire the prerequisites for independent scientific and creative professional work with the possibility of applying in science and research, in the field of highly qualified professional consultancy in the field of finance and taxes, in money and capital market institutions, as well as in private entities and the organizational components of the state.

The graduate’s profiling will be guided in the direction of independent creative work and the ability to comprehensively, interdisciplinaryly analyze and subsequently synthesize the acquired knowledge and transform it into qualified decisions in the financial sector.

A comprehensive spectrum of knowledge and skills will enable graduates to competently solve specific situations not only from the point of view of the current situation but also from the point of view of predicting developments in the markets to achieve the economic benefits of financial transactions. In these activities, they will use not only knowledge from the field of finance but also from financial management and accounting, tax theory and system, methodology of science and other spectrums specified by the offer of compulsory optional subjects.

Summary of Minimum Requirements:

  1. Research Activities
    • At least 1 publication in a Scopus database-indexed journal and 1 publication in the Web of Science database with a non-zero impact factor in the role of the corresponding author, active involvement in project activities is expected (e.g. IGA PEF)
  2. International Research Collaboration, Involvement in International Research Teams/Projects, Research Visits
    • A month internship abroad with a focus which corresponds to the topic of the dissertation and the internship is included in the subject International Activities. This subject can also be fulfilled by participating in an international research project with published results or presentations abroad.
  3. Other Study-Related Liabilities
    • A teaching contribution, or, especially in the case of the combined course students, a lecture on a theme related to the dissertation thesis topic
  1. Requirements for Research Activities
    Liabilities of doctoral students include presentations of interim or final results of their research through publications in conference proceedings and in scientific journals. This liability follows from the provisions of Act no. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, which provides in its Section 47 (4) that “A dissertation thesis must include original and published research results or results accepted for publication”.
    Students are also expected to be actively involved in project activities, at least in the form of doctoral grants within the IGA PEF, but possibly also by involvement in the solution of external projects (usually in cooperation with the supervisor). The requirement of the submitted doctoral study program is active participation in a conference, at least one publication in a scientific journal indexed in the Scopus database and one publication in the Web of Science database with a non-zero impact factor. The doctoral student must be the primary author of at least one of them. Evaluation of publication activity also includes other professional and research publications and conference papers (at least two more contributions).
  1. Internship Requirements
    The liabilities of doctoral students include at least one monthly internship at a foreign university or a research institute whose professional orientation corresponds to the dissertation thesis topic, participation in an international research project with results published or presented abroad.
  2. Other Study-Related Liabilities
    Another task each doctoral student must complete is a teaching contribution, especially in the form of teaching at practice lessons and seminars, or (especially in the case of students of the combined course) a selected lecture on a theme related to the dissertation thesis topic.
