The PEFnet conference is an anticipated event of the academic year and we are now opening its registration. This exceptional event is an opportunity for PhD students from around the world to present their work, network with colleagues and distinguished experts, and discuss key topics in economics.
PEFnet aims to create a space for young scholars to share their experiences and present original research on topics related to economic studies. This is a unique opportunity not only to present research, but also to network and discuss with renowned experts and senior scholars. Registration for PEFnet 2023 opens on 11 September 2023 for both active and passive participants.
Who can you meet at PEFnet?
Two keynote speakers, Jarmila Zimmermannová and Michaela Bednárová, kindly agreed to attend the PEFnet conference.
Jarmila Zimmermannová is currently Vice-Dean for International Relations and Internationalisation ve společnosti Faculty of Health Sciences, Palacký University Olomouc. She focuses on public economics, public finance and economic policy. During her career, she has also been actively involved in the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, where she worked in various capacities in the field of sustainable energy and transport. Her knowledge and experience have given her an important role in the OECD – Joint Meetings of Tax and Environment Experts working group. She is also a passionate promoter of environmental taxation and actively participates in international cooperation in the field of science and research.
Michaela Bednárová works as Assistant Professor at the Pablo de Olavide University, Deparment of Accounting and Finance, in spanish Sevilla. In addition, she is on the editorial board of a number of journals, including co-editing the International Journal of Digital Accounting Research. She is also a member of the Academic Advisory Body at the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications. Her research focuses on new technologies in accounting, digital intelligence, corporate social responsibility, stakeholder engagement and communication in business 2.0.

What will be discussed at PEFnet?
PEFnet 2023 offers a wide range of topics, including sessions on Finance and Business Economics, Informatics and Information Systems, Economics and Economic Policy, ESG: Environmental and Social Aspects and Corporate Governance, Finance, Management, Marketing and Business, and Quantitative Methods. These areas will be discussed in the form of lectures, panel discussions and interactive sessions. Master’s students are also welcome as speakers at the conference – there is an entire Finance section dedicated to you.
The official language of the conference is English. The PEFnet 2023 conference will be held in Building Q of Mendel University in Brno on 23 November. Conference participants will receive a printed version of the “Book of Extended Abstracts”, and an online version will be available on the conference website.
