PEF MENDELU to Host the World Finance & Banking Symposium. Submit Your Paper by the End of July

From December 15 to 17, 2025, the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University in Brno will host the World Finance & Banking Symposium, focusing on topics in finance, economics, and banking. This international symposium will welcome leading experts Karin S. Thorburn and Stefan Ruenzi. Paper submissions are open until July 31, 2025. PhD students are also welcome and have an unique opportunity to present their work to  an expert panel and receive feedback. 

Keynote Speakers 

Karin S. Thorburn 
Professor at NHH Norwegian School of Economics and the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). She is one of the world’s leading experts in mergers and acquisitions, credit markets, and corporate governance. Her work is published in top economic journals, and she has extensive experience leading academic and professional organizations, including FMA International and others. 

Stefan Ruenzi 
Professor at the University of Mannheim, specializing in capital markets, sustainability, asset management, and the use of artificial intelligence in finance. His research has been published in prestigious international journals and is frequently cited by media outlets such as the New York Times, Financial Times, and Wall Street Journal. 

What Kind of Papers Can Be Submitted? 

The symposium accepts submissions from all areas of finance, economics, and banking. Detailed requirements regarding the length and formatting of papers can be found on the official conference website

Participation Opportunities for Ph.D. Students 

Ph.D. Paper Presentations – If you have completed your doctoral dissertation, you can submit it to the Ph.D. section and present your research to a professional audience. 

Ph.D. Tutorial (Work in Progress) – If you are working on a dissertation or proposal, you can apply for the tutorial, where an expert panel will provide you with valuable feedback.
