Freemover - Ukraine

Faculty of Business and Economics of Mendel University in Brno decided to offer a possibility of studies in the Freemover mode of study to refugee students from Ukraine in spring semester 2021/2022 who reside in Brno and its neighbourhood. Faculty welcomes Ukrainian refugees who cannot continue their studies in economic field of study in Ukraine due to the war in Ukraine. Freemovers will be enrolled as full-time exchange students. Study as a freemover is free of charge for Ukrainian students – refugees. Monthly scholarship will be provided in the amount of 15 000 CZK (for that be prepared to provide a Czech bank account number). Applicants can contact Irena Doubková and Kateřina Mlejnková (foreign@pef.mendelu.cz)of the International relations office of the faculty. Please send your motivation letter to one of these contacts and set a date of enrolment with these officials. In the case of any additional questions you might have just contact us. Applicants can choose courses from the Course Catalogue taught in the Spring semester of 2021/2022. Courses taught in English will be available according to their capacity. Applicant will choose and register the courses with the official of International relations office of the faculty during enrolment at the faculty. Freemover program will enable you to study in this uncertain time and you will have a full semester to consider your options. Either you will decide to apply for a full-time studies in a regular study programmes at the faculty , at any other university or hopefully you could return back after the war is over and your studies could continue in Ukraine. Applicants will need:
  • Special visa given to the Ukrainian refugees or the registration at the Czech Police
  • To be at least 18 years old
  • Provide a motivation letter (send it to the contact emails above)
  • Any document providing confirmation of the university studies in the economic area in Ukraine (ISIC, student’s card, confirmation of studies, transcript of records, print screen from university information system) in printed or electronic form.
Applicants will be enrolled as exchange students at the faculty. They will receive confirmation of studies. After they successfully finish the chosen courses the confirmed syllabi and confirmed Transcript of Records will be provided so they can request the course recognition at their home university in Ukraine after the war will be over. Faculty has a capacity to enrol 50 to 60 Ukrainian students and the capacity will be expanded as more Ukrainian academics from our partner institutions in Ukraine will be arriving at the faculty and additional courses will be offered.
