About CEE

The Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program is a transformational leadership development experience that equips emerging civil society leaders, ages 21-27, to harness the power of networks, relationships, and information to develop multisector approaches and build healthy and engaged communities in over 100 countries. CEE Fellows are innovators, activists, and changemakers making a difference in the areas of environmental sustainability, women and gender issues, youth engagement, civic dialogue and peacebuilding, and open and participatory government.

Program Activities

Collaborate with civil society organizations in the U.S. during a three-month practicum.

Develop leadership capacity with the Leadership and Civic Engagement Academy.

Create and implement an civil society project in the Fellow’s home country.

Build lasting connections with civil society experts through follow-on exchange grants.

Join a global alumni network of emerging leaders in over 100 countries.

Ideal CEE Candidates

Ideal CEE candidates are emerging young leaders and activists, between 21–27 years old, who are passionate about addressing issues of public concern and improving their communities. Ideal applicants will have at least two years experience working in community initiatives.

Program Timeline

Application Window: May 22 – July 2, 2024
Finalist Notification: October 2024
U.S. Fellowship: March 11 – June 6, 2025
